No more hospitality in the South

Date: 11 Jun 2011 Comments: 1

Georgia and Alabama have passed some of the nations toughest immigration laws within the last 2 weeks. These Laws affect everyone living in the state and more so immigrants documented or not.
Heads up Kenyans in the south. Remember if you can’t stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.

My 4 vision 2030.

Date: 11 Jun 2011 Comments: 1

Much has been said about Kenya’s vision 2030 but I still think much more needs to be taken in consideration about the North Eastern (Semi arid) part of Kenya and Nairobi.

Given the urban migration-taking place in Kenya today, Nairobi will be brought to standstill even before 2030.
Already the city is “full” of human traffic and the walking pavement are no longer capable of handling the multitude in neither of the 7 days of the week.
One thing leads to the other; and since the local government and the private sector cannot hire everyone, these people have converted any shadowed area in the city into their “mobile malls” further crippling the city infrastructure.
City streets have not been spared neither. Just like Beijing, Private and commercial vehicles have tripled within the last 2 years but no new streets have been created to accommodate the new drivers. Kenya has no emission laws which leads to polluted air and very unhealthy for the population.

Seriously the chain link goes on and on and on and that’s where my 4 vision 2030 comes in handy:
1. What about constructing a modern city (with working drainage/sewage system, modern wide streets, Commuter rail and so on) in the arid Northern Eastern Province eg Wamba. Then re-locate the Government HQ there. These eases congestion in a city with over six military installations within 10 miles radius.

2. I also suggest a Mini Las-Vegas in the eastern province. Look at it this way, most of the land in this part of the country is not used to it’s potential. You cannot have a few nomads claiming that it’s grazing grounds and yet they’re dying of hunger and starvation. A few casinos will create employment for locals and other developments.

3. Since our friends Chinese are willing to loans us some much needed $$$$, why not connect Nairobi to the new capital city (Wamba) with a high-speed train just like they have in china. That way you can still leave in Westland and commute back and forth to work for about 30minutes ride one way.

4. And for a change, why not get our friends from Israel to help us build a Reverse Osmosis water filtration plant somewhere in Lamu and pipe the clean water to Wamba. By so doing we will have irrigation water for most of the dry land between Lamu and Wamba hence increasing land productivity and development. This has been proved to work in Israel and Texas and guess what? No draught, no hunger.

Why wait for 2030 which most of us will not leave to see given the current situation of our country where majority are on “death row” due to diseases and hunger. My 4 visions can be completed within 4 years and they incorporate all sectors: business, farming, construction, transportation, water and so on plus all these could be done by private investors at zero cost to the citizens.

Kenya growing Chinese families

Date: 11 Jun 2011 Comments:0

Something is happen in Kenya and within a few years the Kenyan demography will be similar to that of United States. If you know what I mean.

By day most Chinese labors are busy in various construction sites building highways, stadiums and so on in different parts of the country and by night they are building families.
According to unverified information by Kenya news outlet, the number of biracial births has doubled in Kenya especially within the “new highway” corridors, which Chinese are building.

You would expect the Kenyan authority to have sounded an alarm by now, especially to the young and venerable girls who are lured to having unprotected sex by money and promises of marriage, but non.

The Chinese government have imposed a “one child policy” to it’s citizens since 1979 resulting to Undocumented children (also called “black permit” children) who are born and raised in secret and never registered with the government. To avoid detection by the Family Planning Association the children are shuffled around among uncles, aunts and siblings. Pregnant women who chose to hide in the countryside until they give birth are sometimes called “birth guerrillas.” Most Chinese men take every available chance to have a second child or even more, and places like Kenya have proven to be the right breeding grounds.

Kenyans mothers should know that the father is financially obligated to support his child even if he goes back to china. And that’s where the Kenyan Authority comes in, in educating and being diplomatic and legal resource. Alternatively vision 2030 might turn to be vision .5s

10 Million dollars for pocket money?? you have to be kidding!

Date: 11 May 2011 Comments:0

Yes, 10Miilion US Dollar. This is what a Kenyan politician misplaced in a piece of language at Jomo Kenyatta Airport In Nairobi.

Although Uhuru Kenyatta denied ever having that sum of cash upon his arrival from the Netherlands a few weeks ago, the evidence is there and he’s only trying to avoid the public outrage. Many would wonder how much then the minister had in him before heading to Hague if 10m USD is what he brings back to the country after a weeklong trip abroad? Is it lawful to carry Cash money of that magnitude?  He, being the finance minister, did the Kenya government let him carry the famous budget briefcase on what was supposed to be a personal trip?

There are more questions than answer on this issue given the situation of majority poor and famishing Kenyans.

Church and money

Date: 11 May 2011 Comments:0

Some of the Kenyan pastors in Massachusetts.

It’s the Law of Moses and yes it’s in the Bible, which tells us to give offering and tithe to support “Gods work”.

The problem is a new “law” has overruled the Old Testament especially when it comes to the usage of church money. How is this money supposed to be spent? Who is supposed to run the church budget? Do not be surprised if you get conflicting answers depending with whom you ask.

Evangelism and Charity, these are the only two church budget categories.

Lets take a very so common scenario in Kenyan churches within Boston; Say a guest preacher is visiting your local church. His or her expenses should be covered by the Evangelism account but in this community the host Preacher will normally ask the congregants to “Bless” the visitor by doing a  “special offering” kind of fund rising at the end of the services.

Just like any other organization accountability and transparency needs to be enforced since church funds are actually public funds.  The congregations need to have access to the books if necessary.

Lately, we have heard of Pastor, Bishop and other church leaders going to court fighting for access to the gold pit.

So unfortunate the Church have turned out to be the recession proof “business”. Kenyan community in Massachusetts has been hard hit by the mushrooming of churches and self ordained ministers aimed to serving a minute Kenyan population in the area which has lead to public “fighting” among the Pastor and church officials. And yet not a single known charitable organization is getting funded by these churches.
